A Little Del Mar History - Pace and Cap

Back in 1937 Bing Crosby, Pat O'Brien and Jimmy Durante got together and started the Racetrack in a little town called Del Mar on the coast of California just North of San Diego. I can still see Jimmy Durante on the old black and white tv saying goodnite Mrs Calabash wherever you are. His famous closing line after a show.

How about that controversial Seabisuit match race?? Jocks were suspended about 6 months each.

If I'm not mistaken,did'nt the Marx brothers also participate in the founding of the Del Mar racetrack?
