July 4th, Monmouth 11 furlong route on turf
Here are the runners with pacelines where you can observe the positioning and mile time (or calculate it) using The Hat's Marathon Spot play. Precious Passion is one of the fastest. The 2:01.4 10f time converts to 135.8 and it goes nicely with the line just above it. It looks like Court Vision and Strike are part of the mix as well.
Good luck handicapping this one. |

July 4th, Monmouth, Salvatore Mile
The two speed horses look to cook each other, Coal Play and Two Step Salsa, so I'm looking for a mid pack runner like Smooth Air or Solar Flare to win this. I was also thinking that with a little luck that the 4 - Kiss might pick up a part of the purse if the 5 and 6 really heat up the front end.

Smooth also has a power move vs a fast pace last race (FPLR)

Kiss T - TURF RACE
Bill - why did you use a TURF Race for KISS T?

Why not
8 of the last 10 lines were on turf: the last dirt was 322 days ago. I was shopping for a good turf runner that might transfer to dirt to put a price on the board. Otherwise, I wouldn't use him or just make him live with nearly a year old dirt line.
