Work Ethic
By talking to people such as Bob Purdy,RxLawyer,Pino and I already know Richie does this as well 90% of your handicapping should be done BEFORE you turn the computer on.I believe this to be true as well and wonder why these newer programs dont give you an option to print the past performances. As my good friend Pino keeps telling me if you dont get in the right pacelines it doesnt matter what program you are using.I wish people here instead of just posting their selections would go into detail why they selected those pacelines to use.It could be very beneficial to everyone instead of just a number.Jeff

Hi Jeff,
Not sure what program you are talking about that does not let you print past performances? If you use any data (bris or t/m) you can print pp's prior to using a Sartin program with their past performance generators. Programs such as WorkHorse, Aodds98 let you print pp's from within the program itself. I agree with you that it would be nice to know why a paceline was chosen but that takes a lot of time on the bulletin board to put together for an entire card. That could certainly take the poster away from betting, which is what most are going to do when handicapping an entire card. I think Bill and Richie both go into paceline selection from time to time on a specific race and it is always interesting to see how others approach this task in paceline oriented programs. As for me, I appreciate all constructive postings on the board that are designed to help people learn and become familiar with different aspects of the handicapping/betting process. If people only have time to post picks, that is fine by me. Although I do not blindly play what other people choose, I enjoy looking, after the fact at how they did. What I do not particularly enjoy, is after the fact posting of why a horse won, especially if the person is alluding that the longshot was "obvious". Some great racing today! Hope everyone has a good one. Jim |

Why do you have a computer if is not to separate the horses? I throw 18 20 lines in and LET THE PROGRAM do what is suppossed to do: tell you what the better ones are. It works very well.
There is NO ONE WAY to blow your nose, put on your pants, or work a race with these programs.

Jim,I was talking about Val,I really dont know if Spec or the upcoming RDSS will allow you to do it or not.Maybe it has something to do with using TM files not allowing you to print pp's.Let me ask you question about A Odds is there anyway to get those files into Synergism like you can do with Energy?Jeff

pp's
hi all i print the pp's all the time using Tm's software. both the plus and pp software. i custom it so i only get 2-3 pages. i don't buy drf any more. why pay for the same info twice. also shoe you asked me why i choose the #1 back on the 1st. i used the O(overlay) U(underlay) method. i'll take 7/2-4-1 as my min. i did bet the 10 as it was 3-1 with 3 mins and then was bet down to 9/5. i did bet the 5 to.

Hi Jeff
I try to give my reasons for the lines I choose
Some times I can. And other times like todays Santa Anita I am pressed for time and I just post the BLBL I always try to post the BLBL When I post the BLBL The lines I used are shown To be fair I feel that if you have a question of why I used a line Then isn't it easier just to ask What are your reasons to use line 3 for horse two? I try to include the paceline screens when I have the time If you have any questions on any of my post I will do my best to get you an answer |
