Match Up 2nd Key: Positioning Examples

I like the example after example after example format of Richie's Match Up tutorial: 2nd Key - Positioning. So much repetition helps condition my brain to LOOK and SEE.

This thread is for notes to myself (and of course anyone else ) to help further LOOK at and SEE the race which has run a thousand times before. If anyone has any good examples, let me know and I'll post in RDSS format (RDSS testers, please feel free).

Years ago Sunny Jim Fitzsimmons described horses like this one as being like one of his best ones NASHUA. Ferdinand, Affirmed, Precisionist were the same way: One has a hard time really pinning their style down as they hung close to the front and ONLY PRESSED as much as they needed, never really putting the field away until very late in the contest. USING MULTIPLE lines will readily show this proclivity.

Unlike runners of the Forty Niner, Ladies Secret, Creme Fraiche variety, who simply ran away from the rest of the field, these never would express that dominance and only hung close NO MATTER THE PACE.

THESE TYPES are the exception, rather than the rule.

I also did the SAME thing in race 1 tonight and tossed the #7 as a
"stop on his own" type..

that left me on the #4

odds were too low to win bet so I played a dd with him. the 4 wins the race BUT gets taken down and the #7 is put up.

I LOSE my bet and move on

early is where it's at. Once you know them, you can figure out the rest of the scenario.

Wow Richie,

$6.80 is a pretty good price for such a dominant early on the bullring ! In addition almost every other horse negotiates FR3 in 50.00 fps or less. The only one capbale was the #6 , a rear runner with zero Quirin Points. No chance of catching this one. Nice pick Richie !
