Kentucky Derby 2026

Did anyone noticed that by Doc's recommendation of selecting pace lines (1st and /or 2nd) from particular graded stakes, the exacta came from the three highest L/EP?

Just using the RDSS auto pick-best perceptor last 3:

I have 6,1,12,11,19,15 in that order for L/ep;

87.8, 87.7, 87.6, 87.5, 87.3, 87.1 respectively.

The show horse #22 at 86.7 for a ranking of 9th

out of the 15 who could be measured on the Energy screen.

(I use the 100% variant adjustment)

Hi Mike, This was Sartin's guidelines for ONLY the Kentucky Derby for horses that finished 1st and / or 2nd in certain graded stakes. The 11 and 12 horses don't qualify. The 12 did finished third by a head in its graded stakes. I threw him out. If I had included him, the outcome would still be same. The top three horses on L/EP. I selected the pace lines from those races, not auto pick.

Hi pianoman,

I went to the 50% variant adjustment also.
I think I checked the 1st &/or 2nd requirement
in graded stakes.
#19 doesn't make it in the top 3 in this second run through
for me; and if I use his win on 1/17/2026 his L/ep is 0.4 worse.
So through the Sartin guideline you're showing,
even if I "cheat" and use line 1, #19 is no better than
4th in L/ep on my readouts no matter which variant adjustment.

You are correct, Mike. Somehow I had a blank on the 19 horse and placed him second instead of seeing that he ran third. My bad. But I’m not return the money.
