Thumbs down Trackmaster ignores us

I emailed TM last week asking if they would consider sponsoring our little contest. I went right to the top and emailed the VP of sales Jim Vanderbosch.
We have not even been acknowledged with any form of reply.

He knows who we are as he has worked with Ted. I explained he and TM could not possibly find a better "targeted audience" than Pace and Cap as most of the users HERE use their files to power

RDSS ( developmental)

Just letting folks know they could give a rat's ass about us here after Howard (and all his powerful friends) retired and Ellis Starr left That is MY opinion.

Meanwhile folks like the Daily Racing Form http://www.drf.com/ and David Schwartz of Horsestreet http://horsestreet.com/ JUMPED at the chance to get some exposure here while kicking in with some VERY EXPENSIVE prizes. Something I will certainly remember for a LONG time.

other than the information and the fee we pay them, how do these people owe others anything but what they signed up for? namely, the race cards.

Where did I say they "owe us" anything John?

There is a BIG difference between having to do something and WANTING to do something for folks who patronize your company and put CASH in their accounts.

Before my dad passed on he was one of the sharpest import/export guys in the business. he had this one particular company who he did a lot of business with.

Each year around the holidays he would go out of his way to give them a nice statue hand carved from the Philippines because that is what the company liked and bought. he would spend a bit extra on them and get them say a elephant statue with REAL ivory tusks. They went nuts because it was a sign of:
1) Appreciation
2) Respect

I live the way my family taught and in MY opinion we were shown neither of the above. So I SPEAK UP.

Big difference between having to and wanting to.

Now you can SPEAK UP and have the "last word".

Richie

Richie, I would have to say Ron Tiller and HDW is near the top as far as customer service. He posts often on the HTR BBS and he addresses problems and concerns quickly. I know this is a moot point since unless you are running AODDS or the manual entry programs you are tied into Trackmaster.

very disappointed

I am very angry at this TM should have helped us
Sweety John I read your opinion
I feel that they should have helped us out and should
have shown us there interest in what we do with the data Ellis Star and Doc
worked on

I know that the Friday night Race of the week opened many eyes to
what us Sartinites can do
Just wait till they see what you guys can do with the Winter Blues
races. I bet all the final winners will show outstanding Roi's

I Know Rich worked very hard getting us the great sponsors
TM must be very selfish. Rich is a great spokesman for our group

I feel As Rich does, A gift to a loyal customer is a very good thing
My dad (brooks) sent me with gifts for his customers a few times when I was
working for him
They were always very honored and thankful and I knew my dad
did the right thing by them so they were loyal

I hope Ted is ok with this. If all I can use is TM well they have me in a corner
But I am very much thinking of using Valm and THE DRF

Perhaps a formal request of BRIS to create a file to replace the TM ones now used, ala "Hat" files?
Would seem that just re-arranging existing files would be the lion's share of work needed. Maybe someone could write a utility program to convert a BRIS file and make a variant out of thier numbers? CJ (pace figures ) has a version of the BRIS file that replaces their pace numbers with his figures, so it would seem like it could be done.

My suggestion is life's too short to get upset about not getting a prize from TM.Over the past month two people who I knew fairly well died of cancer one was 52 and the other was 60.As long as you and your loved ones are healthy be grateful for that.Jeff

Certainly no one would differ with you on that last post Jeff, but for the longest time I have said Bris,Bris and Bris again. I own no stock in the company and only get the same 20% kickback that everyone else does who buys files from them and bets with Brisbet. I do not think they would kick into P&C Winter either. They sponsor nation wide contests and fly folks to Vegas who make the cut instead. If Ted had his RDSS geared for both Bris and Trackmaster some folks here would jump ship for sure and others determined to do it in dos would have nothing to say.
