downloading rdss 2.1

I understand Ted is on vacation until the end of July so I thought I'd post my question here that someone might be able to help with. Hope this is the right forum.
I have 2 drives on my desktop--the root drive and a D drive. RDSS2.1 is on my root drive and I'm trying to install it on the D drive as well (which is a separate piece of hardware, not a partition). I want to download another copy to compare a race with different configurations and if I download on the root drive I can only use the one configuration.

I downloaded the application to the D drive and shortcut to the desktop and clicked on it to open but found myself in an endless loop. Instead of the program, I was basically asked to install again (and again). The install shield is the icon that shows.

Appreciate any suggestions.

I downloaded RDSS on an external drive
I tried to install, but all I got was a spinning icon

I think you must download onto your main drive, I
have always used my c drive with absolutely no issues.

Zim as to running multiple versions of RDSS with different settings
it is no problem to do so from my c drive installed RDSS
