hazards

This is one of the hazards of Del Mar
with just the methodology. Its hard to judge the turf to all weather track
moves

the last line is on the turf and line 2 is a MC so now what ?

Here is my humble opinion:

This is not part of the mainstream Sartin Methodology...

I am quite CERTAIN that Jim Bradshaw was well aware to dissiminate these type of form cycle of young developing horses...

Rdss provides all the info necessary to make this evaluation. But I caution that it is truly an art of interpretation. One is not always right and a horses like this do move up into a hot pace.

First race and third paceline, this horse really worked out 4 furlongs only and galloped out within the race. Folks, this fact does happen and often. This is why I state that it is an art of interpretation.

2nd paceline back, the horse worked on early speed as evidenced by the E/L graph.

Last paceline, the horse worked on its closing kick as evidenced by the change of energy expenditure on the E/L graph...Yes this involves more in depth analysis of each pacelines and interpretation of the form cycle and to forecast the manner that the trainer brought his horse up to today's race and matchup.

If you focus on numbers, the horse pairs two similar efforts or numbers, so today it might move up five lengths. This is the edge of Thorograph interpretors.

Bradshaw would have concluded this scenario and paste the early fractions of the early expenditure race with the closing fractions of the last paceline.

If you think that this school of thought is hogwash, that is your perogative.

Good skills...

Del mar pace line selection is by far the hardest I've done at any track. It seems like every single horse you have to make a TOUGH decisions on what pace line, or even to use a pace line because of all the surfaces these horses have run on.
DMR poly, is also a much different poly than any other surface on the circuit. Just tough to be certain of the pace lines you select, and that was clear to me today.

Thanks Lone Speed
Now that I look at the winner I notice His total energy keeps improving and his energy numbers are getting later, This looks like a well developing youngster.

Hey Grant and Matt. I wish to thank you for the kind words you both posted on this thread. In the interest of full disclosure I didn't play the p6 just had it listed with the winner in each leg in the top 3. It has been my pleasure to work with both of you and I would like to state that I just point the way. Both of you are putting the hard work and are doing very well indeed. I believe that those of us who were lucky enough to have had Doc, Jimmy, Tom B,Sam Wada, and the other great teachers owe it to them to help carry on the Methodology. I joined in 1990 an having been evolving ever since. I lost contact after Doc and Jimmy passed but was lucky enough to stumble on to this site last year. I recognized a few folks like Ted and R Math. I been catching up with what's going and RDSS. You have some very good teachers here in FTL,Bill V, Ted, Jim, Ricie P, and others who post. I have not posted much because I wanted to get the feel of the site. I find myself agreeing with most of what is being taught except to say that I'm from the best of the last 3 school which I learned from Doc while closing a few bars with him and Jimmy. I look forward to becoming more active here in the future. Until then good skill and see you tomorrow.
