Help

tp@turfparadise.net

The above is Turf paradise's email address.

I am bombing them with emails saying that I and all serious players I know will be boycotting their track until the internet ban on Arizona players is reversed.

Please if you have time consider emailing them your displeasure and let them know you will be staying away from wagering there until the law is reversed.

"Procott's" are all well and good BUT these people need to feel it in their wallets man. **** Frogman has put his darn house up for sale because of all this.

Let them know your dollars are going elsewhere til things change.

Big spread on this at PA so they will be "hearing it"

Thank you for your consideration
Richie

Arizonia made it a class 6 Felony to place a wager online.
With a good Attorney who would start a class action suit
against the State of Arizona, I believe that law would be soon overturned.
I would say that the law is an invasion of an individuals privacy by the state of Arizona and in my mind is unconstitutional. Next they'll tell you what to read and what not to read., when to have sex and when not to, and how many children you're allowed to have.

Unconstitutional? You'll have a hard time making that case. This is politics as usual plain and simple.

States have a lot of latitude as far as individual laws are concerned. It's called "States Rights."

They did this same thing for online poker up in Washington and it passed unaminously. They don't give a damn about what anybody thinks. In their minds they're protecting "state business" as well as their own "asses."

The problem as I see it is that horse racing is a legal enterprise. It's legal in the state of Arizona. These poker sites are all off-shore, so essentially they're illegal. If they were legal they would be on shore, but that isn't going to happen until they change the laws.

Somebody had to lobby pretty hard to get this law passed. Somebody with some juice had to be pulling the strings. This is especially obvious because these laws are passing almost unamiously or by a large majority--so not many congressmen are willing to buck the trend.

In the meantime my advice to Froggy would be to open an out of state PO Box with a new ADW, and go on with business as usual. Why take a big loss on your home just so you can bet the ponies? There are ways around this. They took away all of the ways to fund online poker accounts, and then they came up with just as many ways to get around it.

When I was in Arizona this winter I was told that you used to be able to bet the horses at the casinos, but then that got stopped. I have no idea what the reasons were. You used to be able to bet the horses at the Indian casinos in Washington, but they stopped that as well.

If they ever make ONE arrest for this so-called felony I'd be shocked. They're just trying to make a statement. If the handles go down in Arizona then they will know it backfired. If handle stays the same or rises, then they'll consider themselves justified in their actions.

Everyone in Washington still plays poker online. Nothing has happened but that it's now "technically" illegal. In fact, one day, a large group of people went to the capital building and played poker on their computers.

The only way this will change back to the way it was is if the tracks themselves cry uncle. In order for that to happen a lot off the people who don't play online will have to boycott--that might be hard to get done. On the other hand, if the online contingent has enough pull (bets enough dollars) then their boycotting actions could be the deciding factor.

We'll just have to wait and see.
