Ralph,
The Segments screen in RDSS and all the screens based on compounded Velocity are the adjusted Pace of the Horse (i.e. INCLUDING any Beaten Lengths) and NOT the adjusted Pace of the Race. You can see the POR fractional call times on the Adjusted screen in RDSS. The Longshot Screen in Spec160 above shows a mix of POR times added to POH times (check the column captions). Thus, it gives some clue as to how a horse ran itself (POH), against the fastest POR - and of course relative to all other horses (the ranks). There have been several screens in previous Sartin software showing the comparison of POH to POR (i.e. how a horse set or overcame the pace of the race it faced). Up to this point, I had not been convinced that that screen in Speculator showed this POR/POH relationship in a reliably useful manner and so I left it out. I will add it (or something like it) in an upcoming version of RDSS. Meanwhile, you can see the best adjusted POR among contenders by looking at the Adjusted Screen. Ted
