Par Charts
What is your favorite track? Two outfits sell them right now that I know of. One sells individual charts (limited selection) and the other bunch makes you buy a whole book for all the tracks (expensive). The trouble with par charts is that they are going to CHANGE over time. That's why these guys come out with new editions every year. It can run into some serious money if you want to stay up to date.
If you want to do your own, you will have to plot out all the class levels of races at your track, then you will have to take the trouble to go back through all the results charts at Equibase or Brisnet and start averaging times for each level. Another (and easier) way is if you have a stack of DRF's you can mine the info off of. A good primer on this can be found in Tom Brohammer's book. |
