Feedback

Ted,
I want to thank you for your response to my Total Energy question of late...I have worked races since then and see the relationships you spoke of...Please indulge me as I post the following. I have been inspired by Partsnuts posts, as some of those screens are reminiscent of whats showing on my calculator...I am looking for any feedback.......general or specific, critical or not...

Partsnut,
I enjoy your posts. I hope my post doesn’t send you too far back into the past. Ha ha…I have a Texas Instruments TI-82 programmable calculator that I have programmed to execute the Total Energy, EP, SP, AP, FX, and the simplified Hidden Energy equation when I input the fractional times and beaten lengths. It took me months just to figure out how to write those programs. It does not incorporate any variants or adjust distances. I try to enter “sprints” for “sprints” and “routes” for “routes” when I handicap. I find that even with no adjustments, the winner is in my “top 5 total energy” most of the time. I then try to work with those remaining numbers to locate the winner. I respect these Sartin numbers. I am looking for general reactions.
I enjoy looking at the form and pulling my numbers and thoughts from there. In your years of handicapping, what was the most efficient way for you to incorporate “distance and variants“, or “distance or variants” into your computations?

Sometimes if you just recall what you have learned and do some reading, you can answer your own question....No need to to respond.....Thanks....
