Adjustments included in SR #s ?

Here is an emailed query:

In the RDSS software, the New Pace figures are using the SR value. Is there a reason why the TV is not added in or a portion of the variant? The reason I ask is because the New Pace method appears that he is using the Beyer speed figure and not SR + TV. And as you probably know, the Beyer rating actually has the speed of the horse and the track variant figured into it because of the way it is calculated. I saw comments from users stating that they were not having the same success with New Pace and part of that may be this difference between the Beyer numbers and SR.

You can use either TrackMaster Speed Ratings or the internal Adjusted Speed Ratings as the source for NewPace ratings calculations.

Just open the NewPace Configure Settings dialog (the 'gear' icon in the NP screen and choose between the 2 available SRs. The one chosen will appear as acaption over the SR range bars to remind you.

BOTH SRs do integrate ITV and DTV (and the Adjusted SR is further governed by the settings you choose on your main Configure Tab). They will be different from DRF Beyers, and different from DRF SR+TV's, and different from BRIS, or HDW figs, etc, etc. But all these various ratings will be self-coherent, and so will be the ones we have access to.

I don't think there was anything magic about Beyer ratings per se - Dave S was simply using the paper DRF as a common denominator data source to illustrate the NewPace concepts in his video.

I have no reliable info to judge whether these SR in any way produce inferior NP results compared to any other data supplier's SRs. I do notice that some (many) people report that the normal RDSS rating factors and methods produce a superior overall ROI. Which would be my interim assessment as well.
