is val2 still useful?
just wondering how accurate the old val1 and val2 are? thanks...

Hi Nocal,
Val2 and Val3 are not as accurate anymore as they were when Doc released them, ONLY because they calculate the TrackMaster supplied Speed Rating and daily track and inter-track variants incorrectly following TrackMaster's recalibration of the SR in 2006. I'm not clear whether Val1 used TrackMaster, but if it did, it would also suffer. I corrected these formulas in Validator with a new release: Val4. Val4 works as well as Val2 or 3 ever did. Or, you can used the Windows program: RDSS, which produces the same numbers as Val4. Cheers, Ted
