RDSS and New Pace in races with Euros

IN Fridays 8th race NP, using TM values looked like this:

WE only have TM info for the Euros. See how they are much larger than the US contingent.

The 10 won and the 12 showed.

This is the NP screen using adjusted speed ratings. There are no ASRs for Euros so this is how I recommend looking at the US horses. See how close the top 4 or 5 are in this view, 4 horses w/i 3 pts - so very close. In this sort, the horses that only have Euro/foreign races have "0" values.

Some times predominantly Euro horses will foray stateside or WO side for prep races and when that happens you will be able to see both the TM values for such horses and when you choose adjusted speed ratings you can see how the Euros stack up against the locals.

Friday race 10 from BC card

The TM sort from NP shows the highest rated horse to be the winner, Gstaad. Outfielder is 2nd, and North Coast was third, so Euros finished 1st and 3rd.

The adjusted speed rating sort from NP shows 4 horses within 1 pt and one placed and one came in 4th.

Nice exacta and trifecta.

This method has worked very well over the years where there are Euros with high ranking TM ratings to the detriment of the US horses.

BC CARD, Saturday race

Saturday, BC Card, race 8
Won by an English steeplechaser, but place, show and 4th horses were also Euros. US horses got shut out.

Rebels Romance also had US adjusted ratings, but won two BC races in his only two tries on this continent.

Notable Speech won, had the best TM rating by 3 pts. The show horse, the 4 was second highest and finished 3rd, US horse placed.

The winner was top rated from his adjusted US races. The place horse from the US was in the top 4 US horses.

You might have noticed that all the races I summarized were routes. The US horses do better in the turf sprints and the overall stats are about equal for US and Euros in those turf sprints.

NOTE: when using the NP screen you choose TM or adjust speed ratings. If you go on to look at other races, please note that whichever option you last chose, will the the RDSS default for the next race.

So if you worked, say race 8 and last looked at adjusted speed ratings, if you did not change it back to the NP view, when you go to the next race, say race 10, the first NP screen you see will show adjusted speed ratings. If you changed it back to the TM view in race 8 , then the NP screen you first see in race 10 will be the one with TM ratings.
