help appreciated
I am trying to calculate total energy for a race and forgotten what values are used for beaten lengths, particularly for a head and a nose.
Would appreciate if I could be reminded of how it is done. I know to calculate FACTIONAL velocities of the fractions, then add for beaten lengths. Total each fraction to get Total energy, then find what each fraction is separately to find percentage of energy expended each fraction by using formula: fractional velocity/total energy Thanks in advance.

See Follow Up #1 for how to calculate some of the commonly used factors.
