Adjusting Pacelines
I want to be able to adjust the paceline in certain situations - second career start , going from 2 year old to 3 year old with a gap in races .
I see in the documentation there is the ability to click on the box above the first line and that will either raise or lower that fraction . I don't however see that change going through all the analysis screens for that horse. Should it ? |

That tool is for modifying the colour coding of projected pace - a Matchup tool. It does not affect Adjusted running times nor resulting velocity calculations nor compounded factors derived from velocity.
Use it to highlight a pace an Early horse has set or is likely to, then see how all other horses compare to that hypothetical pace: can another Early horse keep up with it? Have Pressers or Closers demonstrated they can close against it. If you start with a Projected Call1 and Call2 set by an Early horse in its past performance (by right-clicking on a selected call time in a horse's Original screen), but clearly no one will seek to press that pace and that Early horse, then it will not need to run that fast to stay in front. You can slow down the projected pace times to see how other horses have fared against that slower pace. Conversely, if multiple Earlies will vie for the lead, you may need to speed up a first or second call pace time - then see what some of the Earlies have done against such a faster pace and which other than Earlies have closed against it. That's how it's used. Implemented with guidance from RichieP and his Matchup work with Jim Bradshaw. It does not modify adjusted figures. Ted
