The KEY to pace evaluation is how a horse did, versus the PACE PROJECTED today at the 2nd call.

If a horse cannot meet and/or overcome that second call: THEY WON'T win pure and simple

Beware slow early paces.

It is the FULCRUM akin to Pizzolla that is the key to pace. Remerber it takes TWO units of early LATE to make up each unit of energy lost to the 2nd call

I can not get out of my mind a discus thrower, turning and turning, and then releasing at just the right moment, letting the momentum to help propell the disc as far as possible, I know truckers are a strange bunch, but I keep using other things to help me understand stuff, and Pace takes alot of different analogies for me to get it, and then sometimes I miss it, to get back to reply, am I right that, as Doc use to state the 2nd call, or is this the "Hidden Fraction", being referred to here ??, I always think that this call is at the point of the race coming around the corner, getting ready to run to the wire and having that slingshot of power to make that run , having allowed themselves the energy to finish with enough power to hold on or pull away, which ever may be the case.

I know this analogy may not make sense to many but for me, I see or try to see if a horse has the energy left at that turn, (also the this point varies depending on the race and track), as I have perviously written , that I have been finding horses that did not have the energy to finish and would lose by a nose, remember that post, so hopefully with practice and more practice I may learn to evauluate if a horse has the energy coming into the stretch drive.

PACE, knowing without a doubt where each horse is thru-out the race is a rare talent, ( getting it right that is), and I would like to learn that and be better equipped to predict the finish as well as the 2nd call and the 1st call too, and I do sometimes, but mostly have the finish predicted, and I think I should start trying to predict the 2nd call point and follow how well this may help me predict the entire race. Knowing if I got a lone speed horse, or a definite speed duel brewing and thus making the SP and Late horses to come clean up after the others exhaust their energy dueling , now enough, as I must drive, more later, sorry.
