Hi Dan,
The RPM programmed Pace Calculator Slide Rule uses the last 3 pacelines only and there's no way you can choose your own line.You are stuck with the program's selection. |

First of all,the RPM programmed their software using the best of the last 3 pacelines only,plus Len Cyz added his own turn time figures and the angle points to the Raw Ratings which further skews the selections...Raw Ratings should be separate from Angle Points.
I only checked a few races on Synthesis that matched the pace of the race with the Pace Computer.I found the Pace Computer easier to use without looking at so many menu screens that Synthesis has...so many screens,so much confusion. This is just my opinion. |

Looks like Synthesis /Pace Calculator's pace of the race is the same. |

Synthesis uses beaten lengths while Pace Calculator uses second call and final time only without the beaten lengths.

Thank you for the explanation. I will have to check the source code, but I am pretty sure Synthesis does not use beaten lengths in PoR. It does use beaten lengths in PoH. Iirc PoR in Synthesis is calculated using the time of the lead horse at each call, so if a horse went W2W, then it's PoR and PoH would be the same. Howard would describe it as a the time of a hypothetical fly on the nose of the horse that crossed each time stamp first. I know Howard on many occasions said that both Huey and Ray were very generous in helping him put together his ideas. It would not surprise me if Howard was using Ray's formula. |

day in and day out
This program outperforms anything I've seen in a while and it's over 40 years old. 3rd race exacta at sar 3 horse box $218. 8th $48. Same on Saturday and Sunday. Anyone else using it?
