Follow Up FWIW Survey
A few yes ago Mr Bill share his method for downgrading a horse from the win position. How it worked was after all the horses had their pl chosen you go to the original screen and click on the SR tab which arranges the horses by SR. You then click on the energy tab and downgrade any horse that does not have a top3 rating in all factors. You then click on the PMTR/TPR tab and down grade for win any horse that is not within 10 pts of the top score. At that tine I did 200 races and only 22 of the races [11%] were won by an unqualified horse. I decided to do another 100 race survey to see what results I would get. The tracks involved were PAEX,MVR,LRL, TAMPA BAY,OAKLAWN &GULFSTREAM. The races from mdns races to stakes. Here re the results
Races Wins Places 100 8 8 As you can see Bills' approach is still very effective. I use this everyday Once again Bill a big thank you for sharing this with us Tim

Hi Cigar. Based on your screen shots 2,3,5,7 &9 would be the horses that are not win contenders, however, they can be place & show horses. If a horse started as a contender I don't put it in the non- contender status since it is still alive for pl & show.

The way I read what you said above was that you would downgrade any horse that was not ranked top 3 in all three of the column factors! The example as shown KEEPS any horse with a top 3 rank in any of the three columns. Also, I know it was not your screen shot, but the 10 was scratched. That would allow the 9 to qualify and as a result it was a winner that complies with this elimination tool. Bill |

Hi Bill. We are looking at the Hid, FX, E/EP, [/EP, & TPR columns. A horse must have at least 1 top 3 ranking in 1 of them. In the above screen shot the 2.5.7.&9 have no top 3 ranking so they are not win contenders. The 3,10 &11 barely qualify. since they all have at least 1 top 3 ranking. These are taken after late scrs so the scr of the 10 would have been accounted for.

Thanks Jeff. It would be nice if folks would post their success in the races of interest section so we get an idea how folks approach their winning races. Different approaches can be helpful to the folks who are struggling.
