The Post Mortem
I found it very helpful to do a daily post mortem: a review of how I evaluated the card(s) I worked on that day, and the wagers extracted from them. In this way YOU can discover where YOU messed up, and often, as a side effect, IN WHAT WAY.
In his good book Handicapping Magic, Micheal Pizzola makes mention that you have to have "your head in the game," to be successful. Distractions lead to omissons of data or them simply being overlooked Keeping a diary, in which you are brutally honest about yourself, one can learn what things might be repetitive.. Yours truly bombed on 11/10/21 due to rushing through things after a late start because of a chemotherapy session.. Hope it won't happen again, but then THIS reason (hurrying) has come up more often than any other reason....have to watch that but probably would not know if it weren't for the daily review.
