Manual Pacelines
When putting in pacelines manually do you take into account the track variant? For instance tonight in the 8th at Ct the 10 horse Pwley's Island ran a 119.1 on an 11 variant track. If you enter that time against horses running on slower tracks he will come up 1st everywhere.Jeff

What program shoeless, Val M? I would not mind trying the manual entry thing with my printouts from Bris Custom PP Generator, if your interested we could do a race with same lines, same race, Bris/Trackmaster a day before sometime.

Fast,Sounds good.I was talking about any manual paceline program that people use.By the way that horse Pawley Island I was talking about didnt pick up his feet.I think when picking pacelines you should try to if possible have the track variants in the same range.Jeff

Some say same type of track, prefer not a wet line etc.. I took the way Aodds picked lines and adopted it as my way of picking lines. I would find it fun to do a experiment with a few of the old programs, the only issue with the lines is that they are the same ones from different data providers. OK you say the fractions and lengths will be exact because all the data comes from one company then its sold to other vendors. So then really the experiment comes down to a step by step guide of getting a few programs up for display, which has had some screen shots here already. In Val M you have to input tracks last best 3 year times for distance right. Or some of the other programs with neverlock one has to run etc. Can we apply varients to the readouts of these old programs Bris/Trackmaster, just like its done by Tom Brohamer in MPH page 281 from the first edition? We all have this book in our collection right? Just a interesting idea, because the talk of varients of late.

It would be interesting to prove even after the fact, of a race about a big race the difference in varients of two different vendors and the older programs that still work beautiful, or even where tracks do not work, (lines picked from some tracks).

Sounds like the perfect tool to head to head Trackmaster & Bris Varients. Also sounds like an easy way to do a 100 race sample. Now the big question is how easy is it to get Synergism 4 for the experiment for display?
