One other thing that might help with clarity…

You’re able to post screenshots of the software screens, which is great, but when it comes to results everything is typed in after the race.

For anyone trying to follow along, it would be much clearer to see either:
a posted ticket before the race, or
a screenshot of the actual wager afterward.

That way there’s no confusion about what was actually played versus what showed up in the results.

Just makes it easier for people to understand and learn from what you’re doing.

The only way any of us really learn from each other on here is seeing what was actually played before the race.

Selections after the race, no matter how they’re presented, don’t show a wagering decision or a repeatable approach.

Horse racing is tough enough as it is. The value is always in the process before post time, not the result after.

Hi Atlas. I used to post selection daily along with a recap of the results but they didn't get many views until after the races were over so I stopped. I still send my picks to a few members who I work with daily so they can verify the picks are made before the races are run and I now post my selections at Pace Advantage daily before the races run I also post my actual winning tickets bet at Twin Spires along with the winning combos and screen shots in the races of interest section. I have been doing this for about 2 yrs. If that is not enough then I don't know how much more I can post. Any way thanks for your in put.

Appreciate the response, Tim.

I think the point Mike was making, and what I was getting at, is really just about what’s visible here for everyone to learn from.

Private messages or posts on other sites don’t really help the people on this board follow along. The value for most of us is seeing what the actual play was before the race, right here, and then how it turns out over time.

That’s not about more posting, just clearer posting. Not just listing contenders, but showing an actual wager and how it’s constructed before the race. Even one top play or a posted ticket before post time would make the decision process much clearer than multiple selections and results afterward.

Just my perspective, but I think that’s what people are looking for and probably why they’re dialing out instead of dialing in.

Hi Tom. Thanks for the input. I don't place my bets until under 8 mins to post checking changing pay offs] and deciding what or if to bet] It would be almost impossible to get back here to post the bet before the race goes off. What I post in the races of interest is what you would get if I got it up before the race runs. If folks can't learn from that then they won't learn even if it were up before the race. Like I said even when I posted selections before the races ran most views didn't come until after the card was done. The only reason I mentioned PA & pms was in case some folks thought I might be reboarding. Thanks again.

Again, I appreciate the response and your efforts to help othersTim.

I understand you’re making final decisions close to post time, but that’s really the key part people are trying to see. The wager itself is the decision, not just the contenders.

What we see before the race is a list of contenders, which most decent software can generate. What we see after the race is a winning ticket. The missing piece is everything in between. How did you go from that list of contenders to that specific wager?

That step is where the real value is. Handicapping identifies contenders, but success comes from how the wager is constructed. That’s the part no one is seeing beforehand. Saying “this is what you would have gotten” after the race is not the same as showing the decision before the outcome is known.

Given that you’re making those decisions so close to post time, maybe the only way to really bridge that gap would be something live, where people can see how you’re constructing the ticket in real time.

Just my perspective, but I think people would get much more out of seeing how the actual bets are put together, not just which horses made the list.

Hi Tom. If what I post in the races of interest isn't enough to help people they can go to the RDSS Documentation Section of the Leverage Pace section and they will find a video I did outlining what I do on my capping and if I remember correctly there is a section on ticket formation. As for now I will take a break from posting. Thanks for sharing yout thoughts.

Appreciate the reply, Tim.

I understand you’ve put material out there explaining your process, and I respect the effort to help people.

I think the only point being made here is about what’s visible in real time on this board. A video or prior explanation is helpful, but it’s different from seeing how a wager is actually constructed in the moment, before the race is run.

What’s posted in the races of interest shows contenders and then results. The part people are trying to see is how you move from those contenders to a specific wager in real time. That’s the piece that’s hard to pick up after the fact.

I’m not saying more needs to be done, just pointing out why there may be more interest after the races than before.

If you take a break, that’s obviously your call. I just wanted to clarify the point being made.
Best always,

Tom

One solution if or when Tim wants to show his handicapping and wagering talents again would be to dedicate a day to posting only. I know from experience that posting and actual wagering are hard to do together in the time frame one has to decide right before a race.

So maybe on Tuesdays only Tim puts up his usual list of contenders at Parx. Then through the day in the same thread posts actual bets he would have made just before post time. Tim wouldn’t be concerned with getting actual bets down on this one day a week. And maybe thats the only day Tim posts. I know it involves some personal sacrifice but Tim seems interested in teaching and thats a sacrifice.

As simple as
Race 1 no value
(next post)
Race 2 $2 Ex2,3/6,7,8. Win $10 2,3 etc. etc. drawn from your contender list.

And at the end of the day Tim adds it all up to show a profit or a loss. Folks could follow along and see how a pro makes the jump from contenders to wagers. Over time Tuesdays would give a good representation of what Sartin and RDSS can do.

It could be called “Timmy Tuesday”

Mike, I think that’s actually a very fair and practical suggestion.

It acknowledges the reality that it’s difficult to post and wager at the same time, especially close to post, but it still addresses the main point being discussed, which is seeing the transition from contenders to an actual wager.

Even one day a week like that would bridge the gap. People could see in real time how the contenders turn into specific bets, including passes, structure, and outcomes. That’s really the piece that’s missing right now.

I don’t think anyone is questioning the ability to come up with contenders. The value for most people is in understanding how those contenders are turned into wagers and how those wagers perform over time.

Something like that would make it much clearer and a lot more educational for anyone following along.
