I hope you had this.........Gulf 5th yesterday

So I downloaded Gulf yesterday, and won the 1st and had to leave the house to drive my daughter around (-:

I just did the 5th, and I missed out on a HOME RUN!!

1. 4 races in 24 days, 7 in 73, and a win and a drop = NO
2. Wins at 50K Claiming - away 275 days, in for 12.5k = NO
3. I will use MDN AT 12.5K - decent effort two races back = IN
4. Broke his MDN in last - cheap claimers rarely repeat, and not going up = NO
5. Last - 21 lengths back, and dropping = NO
6. Claimed for 25K .... now 12.5K = NO
7. A bad case of seconditis, but I like = IN

$43.00 winner and a $203.00 Exacta

Getting shut out, distracted or pulled in other directions can (at times) be frustrating when money is involved. I recall a story when I was still living at home (circa 2005). I was upstairs in my bedroom playing night racing at Mountaineer. I was discussing the race with KPMats10 over AIM Messenger (back when it was a thing LOL) and preached the virtues of a horse named Gen Kennedy who looked to have some sort of advantage in the race (I vaguely remember why I liked the horse). However, it looked like the type of race where favorites would fail, so I formulated some wagers and posted them to KP. About 10 minutes to post, Mom calls me to do something and I forget about the race. 20 minutes later, I make it back upstairs and my heart dropped. KP is messaging me with congratulations on crushing an 85-1 shot and the under horses for a massive exacta and trifecta killing. When I told him that I got sidetracked and never made wagers, the air came out of his balloon.

I will try and find the chart of the race online somewhere, but that was a prime example of a bad beat - without really getting beat!
