I always take a moment on this day, and at this time of year (just before Canadian Thanksgiving) to remember how thankful I am to have met Howard, and come to know how significant his teachings and his teachers were and are.

It makes me smile to remember one of our last conversations, on his final Birthday in 2008, how he was so touched to know that people still loved him, thought well of him and were still practicing (if sometimes in each their own peculiar ways) what he had taught in his life's work.

Thank you Howard. The beat goes on ...

Ted

Happy Birthday Doc

Thanks Bill V for the great post. Without his teachings I probably would still be reading tip sheets. Doc not only taught us how to be winners in Handicapping but also to be winners in Life.

Remembering you on your Birthday Doc. Thanks for everything.
