Saratoga 9/7 race 14
Closing race at the Spa, our friend Dr Z's horse Seize the Hay finally gets a good chance to break its maiden with the scratch of Pletcher's other horse #12 Gunman.

Result 8-3-5-9. Not this time. Life in the fast lane of big-ticket race horse ownership.
Interesting factoid though - the other owner Elyse Mach got sick and was unable to use her Del Mar Breeders' Cup 2017 tickets, which enabled me to buy them from her and treat Bill Varone to a trip to the Breeder's Cup with Dr Ziemba and me. Ted

It was! Fond memories - both the Bill's, in wheelchairs at the end, all of us trying to escape the parking lot Thanks to Bill V's brother-in-law swooping in to collect us. I miss Bill V ...

I would not have bet that race except for having talked this weekend with Ziemba. As it was, I bet the Top 2 Rx3 and caught the #8 at a pretty good price.

That's good. The 8 made sense too. I would have never came up with the 3 getting in the money. Coincidentally, I played with adult-size bets for the 1st time today, since my return as a serious handicapper. Only 4 races today at Saratoga and no complaints here. I've been studying and experimenting with RDSS since I became a subscriber again, back in the middle of June. I'm still looking for a way to increase the volume of races I can bet into. Haven't found it yet, but I'll drop dead before I quit.
