LSP favorites

The favorites at Lone Star Park are on a tear again. Last nite the highest win price was $6.80 out of 9 races. Somewhat to blame are short fields I suppose. Maybe LSP in the next day are so will have some good long shots as it's time for the worm to turn. Just glad I wasn't playing.

Bud, here's a tip you may find useful. I played Lone Star last night and made a little money.

#1 rule: no wagercapping.

What I do at Lone Star and tracks like this -- CRC, TDN and GG (sometimes) -- is bet in the following manner.

Exacta: A/BC costs $2 based a buck
Trifecta: A/BC/BC costs $2 based on a buck

And if those payoffs look too small and a Super is available:

AB/AB/CD/CDE

I save the wagercapping and boxing for tracks like EVD with 14 horse fields and monster payoffs.

Something to consider at least.

Hi Stormbringer,

I don't have a set formula, but let's look at the ninth race tonight at Evangeline Downs. It's a 14 horse field. I've narrowed it down to five.

Assuming the actual odds are close to the morning line odds I'll bet #8 to win. I'll also bet #14 or #4 to win, whichever has the higher odds. I'll box the top four for the exacta. I may then make other bets, but that's the meat of it.

Good betting is the key for me .anyone can pick winners but making money is another thing. one thing other, do you early bet? if so what do you do then ?

I'm not sure what you mean. If I'm playing live I bet at two minutes to post whenever possible.

If I'm playing a lot of tracks sometimes I'll have several done the night before. Occasionally I'll advance bet an entire track concentrating on multiple race wagers, not win bets.

I didn't play at all this evening. Went and saw Hot Tub Time Machine at the movies. Not a great flick, but it sure was fun.

I have a hard time getting what I think on the reply, sorry. I just wanted to know if you do alot of advanced betting or you sit and weight till 2 min til post. I have started using Twinspires conditlonal wagering . The reason is IT was easy to learn at that site. NICE hit in that race! I am comming off a bad Oaklawn season . I changed programs " looking for the black box" I did not find it. So I'm back to what I know works. well if you ever can't make up your mind on a race and have to play it and like the tri"s i use these
#1. 1,2,3/1,2,3/1,2,3,4,5 cost is $18.00 for $1.00

#2. 1,2,3,4/1,2,3,4/1,2,3,4,5,6 cost is $48.00 for $1.00
