*New Pace and Cap*

Hello Folks,

Welcome back to Pace and Cap! We moved the Forums and Library to a new web host October 6 - 8, and also updated our vBulletin Board software, and were down during that time. In the long run, this new host should be more reliable, more responsive and with less downtime than the previous one. We also now have a Terabyte (or several) of online storage for the Library (including many more audio and video seminars from the Sartin vaults, coming soon).

It's possible in the short run that there may be some delays as the web-hosting company fine tunes the new high-speed server which Pace and Cap is running on. It's also possible that some links or attachments in some posts (or perhaps some entire posts) may have gone missing - but if so, this is my fault and I will work to fix that if anyone can just bring it to my attention.

Please use this Topic to report any such 'lost and found' items, or to report if you are finding the new website to be repeatedly slow in responding, or just plain crashing (but please give it a week to shake out, OK?):

Looking forward to lots more discussion, learning and 'friends helping friends'.

Ted

OK folks, you may have noticed the site has been down most of the day (Thursday Oct 9), but if you're reading this, obviously we're back up! The new web-host expresses abject apologies (actually they worded it differently...), but someone screwed up and sort of tripped over a cable kind-of-thing... (more high tech, but just as dumb).

Could this be the last issue before things settle down in new, high-performance mode? Stay tuned!

Update: 9:40pm EST: still working on it. Best guess: Friday morning.

Ted

Yes, we seem to have a connection again!

I'll test this for a while to see if all fingers and toes are accounted for. Hopefully this is it.

I was logged on at the same time Richie was and the pages were moving real slow. They seem to be moving at a good speed now!

EDIT: Well, maybe not that fast, but we'll get there. This post took a while to show up and I got a database error screen. I refreshed and it showed up ok.

Early Monday morning now and things are moving much slower than yesterday. It looks like someone spilled mollasses in the machinery.

I'm hoping that the slowness is due to the many little Munchkins hard at work tuning up the site. I remember when I was a hardware tech that the presence of Munchkin toolbelts often caused magnetic disarray on the switching motors of the massive hard drives.

Good Luck,
Dick
