Wake Up Public
I mentioned in the Kentucky Derby thread that this is the biggest day for touts and so far what I said is batting 1000. Ed Bain who runs a site based on trainer patterns has his wife picking 3's 6's tri's, supers on Derby day. And for the low price of $1,000.00 you can be part of a 5 person syndicate and get in early as it is a first come basis. PLEASE stick your you know what where the sun doesn't shine. The leaches are out full bore now.

I'm not sure the public reads this website. But if they didn't know about those opportunities before, well now they do.
There is a more effective alternative ... Ted

Ted I might not be the easiest of people to get along with but I stand by what I say and I don't post noncense. The proven tools are there for one and all to take advantage of. As the sun rises every morn this game does the same, find the weak spots and hopefully you come out ahead. When I see all the printouts on the site glorifying a $6.00 winner to each his own, that is finding a winner at all cost and the cost will be to those who feel a $6.00 winner is it. I laugh at all that drag takeout through the gutter yet scream I had a chalk winner. To me it's nonscence.

Apparently you fail to understand that just because the end result of a teaching exercise in applying Sartin Methodology tools, or RDSS specifically, happens to result in a $6.00 winner - the process of arriving at such a conclusion is what also gets us $10.00 winners, or $6.00 winners and $10 Place horses and $40 Exactas, etc.
If you missed that, well, it's true - we have such tools, we teach such methods! Of course we're not looking for $6.00 winners. I can't imagine a single reader who is confused about that. Ted

Ted,
I know of the folklore of Doc, and no dis-respect I give him a tremendous amount of credit. I understand your analogy of a $6.00 winner a $10.00 place and a $40.00 exacta but this is still in search of the winner, it has nothing to do with value because if you try and grind out a profit on these chalk or co-chalk horses you go broke, period.

That is not necessarily true. If you are selective and have good rebates on your betting action, you can certainly turn a profit on lower priced horses.

value
I turned my records around when I went away from hiding the favorite
and betting the two best overlays, to betting the two horses that I feel matched my profile, my model, and confidence would win the race, This has upped my winning percentage and my self confidence, and increased my desire to do better. Betting like this, I now get a few horses in the $5.00- $6.00 range. however I have no need to bet anything but two horses to win and sometimes place. I don't need to box a bunch of horses in exactas and have never been happier. Yes I don't stumble onto many $40 horses anymore, These wonderful show and tell wins were superficial. They did little if I have no self worth in my ability to have selected them. Just betting them because they rank well in a program is not learning or teaching. Getting these "lottery ticket " wins is a product of a period of the methodology that's main goal was clustering all the horses into a tight group. So that $40 horses rank ahead of true contenders, Its great when it works,(for awhile ) I also understand there is a bit of showmanship and value to the program and data providers to promote such a methodology. Trouble is if you pick up a bike and spin the wheels off the ground are you using the bike correctly ? are you doing anything that ANY body could do ? Its to Ted's credit and Pace and Cap that ALL ideas and methods of Doctor Sartin's methodology are supported. Teaching how to win races in the classic methodology will get you many great higher price horses but its hard work but worthwhile work Bill |

Bill V. well said...I agree whole heartedly...I don't hide the fav either because I bet a lot of P 3"s and P 4's and you need those favs on those tickets if U R GONNA CASH.
On La. Derby day I bet 2 P4's one at Lad and the other at GP...and believe it or not ALL 8 favs won...it happens on occasion...this year I have started betting exactas sparingly and when I have one of those low priced favs that I think can't be beat..then I will key it on top with 3 or 4 of my other contenders ..but I require all the exactas to pay over $20..that's why I have 3 computers in my office when I'm wagering keeping one of them on the exacta pools...my last exacta bet was 2 weeks ago when I turned a $6.00 horse into a $38.40 score...keep up the good work and thx for your posts..they are very helpful |

I was at the Red Rock Casino in Vegas a few months ago and saw Michael Pizzola betting at the racebook. We chat for awhile. He made a score on an exacta and trifecta bet and i asked him why he doesn't make win bets anymore. He mentioned that Tom Brohamer used to make $300 win bets on what he says were low-price-overlays but in the long run, that might have contributed to his getting out of the game.He said now the whales are the only one who can make a profit betting on 6-5 favorites because they also get the rebates.

Most bettors can get rebates if they want them, and not puny ones. Perhaps not quite as good as 'whales' betting millions per year, but not shabby. Of course there is some jurisdictional silliness (Illinois, Arizona, NJ, etc), but it's a mistake to think only 'whales' get serious rebates. The couple of points extra they make in the WPS pools compared to what you or I would get is NOT what makes them able to profit from 6/5 horses and US not.
I'm sure Michael Pizzolla is getting good rebates for his handle. If not, next time you see him, tell him to call me If you live in the right state (), most people should expect to at least pay for their data and software costs from rebates on their normal betting. www.sartinmethodology.com/rebate_info Ted .
