76 winner at Parx

I missed this one I got in too late
What does a $76 winner look like ?
How about 6-1 ML in a 6 horse field

I used line 3 Its a CL10 N2-L at 5.5

Today was a CL 10 N3-L so the horse was raised in class off a (+) effort
In Line 1 I excused the race as its first try at N3-L It was a (+) race
It was competitive in the first two fractions before coming up empty

This is a good example of Good early speed and fade and its right out of the pace line manual

Interesting Example that raises other points

I wonder if there was a little bit of trainer intent with this horse's last race. Warming up for today so to speak.

If you look at the raw 5F time section for this horse in it's last race where it was beaten 6.4L over 5.5F, the 5F element was actually better than it's previous three races & against a faster POR too.

It would be easy to infer that this horse was going off form, but clearly that wasn't the case. I guess the lesson is, look at those internal fractions! Hopefully someone on P&C got this winner.

Philadelphia 76'er

Quiz Time

Lets look at the result chart .
and the conditions of the race and the PP's for horse # 3

There is something there that supports this big win for a 6/1 ML horse
Can you see it? I am proud to say I did

What about you

To review, Check the conditions of the race, the PP's for # 3
and then the result chart

Conditions

Hi Bill,

Presumably it is the weight allowance available to the 3?

I will have to admit to not knowing quite how to read the condition here to go from 123 to 114. Would you be able to clarify how it got the 114 please?

If I'm not right with the weight issue, then I'll have to wait for you to confirm. I'd have to confess to being a cursory reader of the conditions most of the time.

Conditions

Dave
Lets wait to see some other comments that come in.

I find reading the conditions very helpful but also fun.
There are so many clues that many people never notice,
There are some draw backs about playing 1 track every racing day.
But just knowing the condition book is fascinating.

Thanks Bill!

That picture has just reminded me of something Tony Robbins said about a quote from Dr J, along the lines of demanding more from himself than anyone else could ever expect. Which has given me an extra edge to get my homework done tonight.

I'd have to confess about not really knowing anything about either basketball or Dr J however!
