Rainbow Pick 6
The Rainbow Pick 6 at Gulfstream Park is 3 million dollars.
Here's how it works. You have to pick the winner of all six races. That's hard to do, right? But here's the real rub; you have to be the only person to pick all six winners. If there's a tie, or more than two people select all the winners the pool carries over to the next day. Not to mention any names, but one of the upper management people came over to our table and told us about Wednesday when the carryover was a paltry two million dollars. Two people had selected the first four winners and wheeled every horse in the fifth and sixth leg. So right away management knew it was all dead money for the day. However, we, the general public didn't know that. Now imagine yourself as being one of those two people who knew they were going to hit all six winners. And that they had a shot at taking away the two million dollars. Try to picture their hope, fear and anxiety. Meanwhile management knows it's a done deal. I'd sure hate to have been one of those two people. The bet is, for all intents and purposes, impossible to hit. One thing I know for sure. I'll be betting it the last day of the meet when they have to disburse that cash. *snort* |

In my opinion that's got to be one of the most idiotic bets in racing...If I hit a p6..with some other people I'd want to split the pool now....yea u can believe I'll be in it on closing day...hope there ain't a bunch of maiden races that day

"When the Rainbow 6 jackpot was hit by a single player for $791,364 last April, the cost of the winning ticket was $2.40. The winner picked four horses in one race, three in another, two in another and one horse in each of three races. 4x3x2x1x1x1=24. Divide 24 by 10 and you get 2.4 or $2.40." -Ray Paulick.
