Matching Final Time

Yes, you are correct. You might very well have two different horses suppling the projected first and second calls. Let's say your two projected times are 22 and 45. Then look through the form finding a race that actually ran according to these times and take the final time of that race for your final projected time. For example, you scroll through the past performances and find a race with the 22 and 45 times and a final time of 111.0. Use the 111.0 as your final time. Don't add any beaten lengths - you are determining the pace of the race and NOT the horse. With your projected times - you then look for the horse(s) who can run closest to your projected pace.
