Rdss update

Two interesting messages:

1. could not load zip routines. Tip, if running vista....(am running xp pro)
(hit the o.k. button and it moved on)
2. could not extract contents of download file:FG20071129rdss.zip

The first pops up when I go to the new module. The second after I download the FG file for the 11/29/07 Is it set-up to start after December 1? The account was activated and seemed to go smoothly.

Regards

Chris,

I think that problem with the ZIP might be solved in this other Topic in the Bugs forum: http://paceandcap.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3141

The new file is indeed ready for use now.

Let me know if it does. Thanks.

Ted

Tried the bug fix; looked like it went well, the approriate message "suceeded" popped-up. But still getting the same 2 error messages.

Thanks,
Chris

Chris,

Please check my latest post in that other thread re this. I blew the Update Install and have made a new one to download. Please download and Install the Update again and see if that fixes things.

Sorry about that

Ted

Hi Ted,
I down loaded the update on both computers. Everything works fine on XP.
The program works fine on vista, except when I closed the new module, (see attachment), this is the screen that was there. I closed it and tried handicapping a race. Worked fine.
Will this interfer with future downloads or just forget about it?

Tom,

That message indicates a problem connecting to the database engine. I notice from your screenshot that you have 2 instances of RDSS running (perhaps inadvertantly). The 2nd instance will fail to run properly at a certain point, as we're not set up (at the moment) to be running more than 1 instance of the software against the same database at the same time.

If you only ever run one copy of RDSS at a time, I think you should not have that dialog box about the database connection and everything should run fine. Let me know if it happens again, when you are certain that only 1 copy of RDSS is running.

Ted
