Any news or updates on the live odds or other issues?

Dan - I am working on testing my alternate strategy for getting stuff from TwinSpires and hope to have something during January. Not just resurrecting the former stuff whole, but also presenting options and caveats to using all that TS sourced data.
I'll update progress here as it becomes clearer. Meanwhile, minus live odds, RDSS remains as useful as it ever was, and of course the TS Ratings are still available manually for those who need them. Ted

Dan,
I agree that having tote pool data appear in RDSS (or any software or spreadsheet) lets you perform calculations and manipulations to uncover inconsistencies and opportunities, and place the betting pool info next to the analysis info for optimizing decision making. However, you can still/always get the SAME real-time public and free (no account required) tote data in your web browser which RDSS gets. For example, here is Jan 4 Aqueduct Race 1 closing WPS pools. https://www.twinspires.com/bet/progr...ghbred/1/pools Exacta, Double and horizontal will-pay pools also available. This data is available while you are using RDSS or any handicapping tool for you to make play/pass, bet sizing, hedging/dutching (at least non formula-intensive) decisions. Check it out (during days AQU runs, after Race 1 is open for betting)! Ted

Hi Ted,
I have had inconsistent results with that. Sometimes it notices I am not logged in and blocks me. Sometimes if I log in with the account I made for my mom down in Arizona it works, at least until they notice I am in Nevada, then it blocks me. If I only look at one or two races, it seems to work, but if I am using it all day here in Nevada, that is when they kick me. I have not tried in several months, but I will try again when I start betting. Thanks, Dan |

Ted, are the results and payouts that are part of the modeling export file, also sourced from TS ? The fields are now blank.

Yes Jim, they are sourced from TwinSpires, thus missing from exports currently. Quick race results, mutuel prices and scratch updates sourcing will change with an update to getting them from Equibase.

I advised Tim (and others) to test those pages (and in so doing prove that RDSS was accessing a public, no login set of pages) by first clearing any twinspires.com cookies from the browser cache. I know you know how to do this, so I won't elaborate here. If you do that, then the browser will not know how to log you into any account, thus you will be in exactly the same position RDSS is in when it hits those same public pages (tote, ratings, etc). Thus, there will be no account you are logged into to then kick you out of. You might find this process helpful. BTW, it is what I do, as I do not have a TwinSpires account to log into - thus I never have an issue accessing them, from Canada or any other location where someone may not hold an account. Good luck! Ted

That is a very smart idea. They probably are looking at the cookies. I will try looking with Brave instead of Firefox. I have never logged in with Brave, so it should not know about my account. Thanks, Dan |

Ted and Company,
I am also having trouble. With the spinning wheel, RDSS not responding. I have been waiting the 60 seconds. The "wheel" goes away. Once in a while I can open one for the tabs; registration or data center. well, now its not going that ... RDSS must have connected once because the subscription days is correct. Reboot again. Bill |
