Gulfstream, Monday Dec 5 - No Races!

Just a heads up - although RDSS shows that a card of racing exists for GP Monday Dec 5, and will let you go through the trouble of Downloading and Converting it - those races don't show up for handicapping!

The reason is - the whole card is simulcast from South America - there are no local races today. No races show up on Equibase for today.

So don't bother. (Took me a while of head scratching to figure this out )

Racing resumes at GP on Wednesday.

I am having an issue somewhat similar with Evangeline for 12-08-11.
Although I downloaded the card, when I open it, I got the message" sorry but...past performances are unavailable for this distance right now".
Note that, equibase does show that there is racing at Evangeline for that particular date.
Do we get charged for those cards, although there is no data downloaded?

Hi polambi (and welcome to PaceandCap and RDSS!)

RDSS2 is able to at least display the contents of that card for Evangeline and it shows all the races are Quarterhorse distances (1st image below) - so we can't analyse them. In RDSS V0.99.2 (your evaluation version), although it did Download and attempt to Convert those cards, it can't even open the card to show the Summary screen.

If you suspect a track may be running quarterhorse races - either for the entire card or mixed with a few thoroughbred races - you can check the Entries without downloading (and buying) the card by using the Ctrl+Click key/mouse combo in the Data Centre (2nd image below). That takes you to the Equibase Entries webpage and race description for that card (free), where you can judge whether you want to bother with the card at all.

In the case of Evangeline for December 9, it too consists entirely of QH races, which RDSS cannot currently analyse (maybe next year ).

Just write TrackMaster at info@trackmaster.com (or call 800 321-3343) and request a refund for those cards: tell them you are using RDSS and didn't know they were QH races. No questions asked.
