Marathon method on the Oaks 2018

Contenders 1,3,4,5,10,14.

Mile Times with position
#1 (99.2) 3rd
#3 (98.0) 1st
#4 (98.0) 2nd
#5 (99.2) 2nd
#10 (98.4) 1st
#14 (97.3) 1st

#14 MONOMOY (ML 2-1) Early but also OTE
#3 CLASSY ACT (ML 15-1) Early
#4 CHOCOLATE MARTINI (12-1) OTE

Hard to go against a 97.3 Mile Time like that but #14 has to do this from the 14 post.

I will go against.
3,4 WIN

According

To the Hat file the Marathon Method was only to be used in races 10 furlongs or better? The Oaks is only a 1 1/8

You are right Bob. A couple of years ago I applied the Marathon Method to the Oaks while doing the Derby and it worked providing a good price. Thought I would try it again.

If you use the splits for Mendelsohn's UaE Derby for Rayya, she might compromise the 14, who is running outside on a short trip to the turn with plenty of early pressing speed inside that just might park her.

I like Rayya and Midnight Bisou.

Good luck to all.

Kentucky Oaks

Sadly, just as I was about to bet then post my Oaks selections, power went out all over our region here in Central Ontario . I got my mobile phone working and managed to get my bets down, but no pre-race post here, sorry

Anyway, just for bragging (and cashing) rights managed to catch the Win and Exacta (Tri and Super horses too, but not bet)

I kept the #5 Wonder Gadot largely due to her Class numbers, and also her tied 3rd ProfitLine and Prime Power numbers. (Also because I like the name and the movie ).

Now for maybe a quiet night by the fire, reading and drinking in the dark ...
