AQU 12-05-12 Using The Taulbot Pace Calculator And The PaceAppraiser Method And Form
AQU 12-05-12 Using The Taulbot Pace Calculator And The PaceAppraiser Method And Form.
Todays first race at Aqueduct is a competitive and challenging race. I have this race going to either the (1) or (4). Actually, I will eliminate the (4) because it will offer little or no value and probably be the prohibitive betting favorite. So my final choice for a win bet would be the (1) if it's odds are 5-2 or better just 1 minute or less to post time. If your an exacta player, you might want to box 1, 4, 7. All horses are subject to scratches and if by chance the (1) horse scratches, I will pass the race or will only play a 4-7 exacta box. I used the Taulbot Pace Calculator with all my pace lines and contenders coming from PaceAppraiser Form. My speed and variants come directly from the Daily Racing Form and are adjusted using the Sartin Speed Rating method. The race screen shots can be seen at the following link. http://partsnutspage.blogspot.com/20...-05-12-r1.html |

Results Race (1)
Once again I had the winner, exacta and the predicted order of finish. If you think this was an accident, I can assure you it was not. I believe my example screen shots gave you everything you need to know. Winning and making a decent profit is what this game is about. It's all about the money. Here are the results. |

Partsnut...
Great analysis.... Two questions.... With regards to drf variants and using Sartin speed ratings, I presume that you are referring to taking half of the daily track variant in the racing form after the speed index... I know that you are a main proponent of using Synergism programs, why the need to switch from one program to another, besides saying more than one way to skin a cat... Thanks for your posting of races which We all can learn from.... |

I switch and test software all the time. I'm always looking for the better way. I also use more then one tool. Jim G made the statement "There's more then one way to skin a cat" Besides being a good friend and a person that I respect and admire, he is an excellent player and you take take whatever he says to the bank. You can only learn from Jim. Synergism is a good program but I never really looked into Taulbot. Pino peaked my interest in it. The Pace Calculator was endorsed by Doc Sartin. He wrote an article on this in the American Turf Monthly. It explains how the SSR (Sartin Speed rating) works when adjusting the speed rating listed in the Daily Racing Form and from the daily variant which also is listed for the pace line you choose. I apply this to AmerVar (The Taulbot Pace Calculator) Additionally, I am a hugh advocate of PaceAppraiser and the Randy Giles method of "Extreme Pace". Contender selection is a piece of cake with PaceAppraiser. I do a complete Match Up with it. I can also single out races where I feel there is a pace advantage and reasonable value. What I have done recently, in order to take my mind off some very serious issues that have occurred at home, is to put together a workable method combining what I feel will help me achieve success. I am tweaking myself for a number of contest events in the near future. |
