I believe that SYN 4 has more latitude and gives you the setup options such as using the Beyer type numbers. |

DMR - Race-5 Results
The 4 was a prohibitive favorite at very low odds and never did reach my odds requirement of 5-2 or better. I passed the race.
The (4) never fired, |

Bill,
You are a smart man passing races where you do not get the odds you set. Isn't it amazing what years of experience will do for us? Jim |

Parts,
Syn 3 TPR numbers are more like the ones in the book Pace Makes the Race. It was the last program that Purdy did while he was still in the Sartin group. Syn 4 he did when he left that's why quite a few of the headings for the numbers are different. I was never a big fan of Beyer's numbers. |

I really
Jeff I like Syn3 but the only problem I have is the pars
The other day I tried to do a 5.5 distance race from Woodbine and I kept getting error messages saying no par time exsist I like Syn 2, even hand entering my lines it does not take very long to do a race I am reading the synergism 2 manual these days I feel I agree with Doc and Bob Purdy with Syner 2 The user must do a bit of work before they enter pace lines With careful analysis of each horses history at today's track, surface and distance and noting what 2nd call each horse needs when it does well, Finding a average set up figure and a pace scenario is easy Actually a good pace analysis is vital when it comes to choosing how to sort the readouts either FW EP or SP If the pace analysis is done correctly the DR factor is especially powerful I feel that Ted has come up with a good procedure that automates the set up times Bill |

Hi Bill,
Houndog updated the pars a few years back and was a lot of work so some of the tracks and distances were left out. Also if some tracks that he did do were not running those distances at that time they would not be in there. Your right about the DR factor it is a powerful number If you think Ted has come up with a good way of getting those lines into Syn that is good enough for me. Jeff |

Horses don't run adjusted times.
Set Up time can be Fulcrum and if not Fulcrum then use a track profile for the distance, extrapolate the average time at the 2nd.call, paying attention at the lengths behind as well. I don't use the 3 years best, I rather use the track record to be sure. That's all folks and don't be afraid to go 10 lines deep if you must. |
