Derby crashes prev. RDSS version

Downloaded the 5-2-09 CD card so I could get an early start on the Derby. All the other races work fine, but when I try to handicap the Derby, RDSS crashes. Is it the 10f. length of the race ? Is it the 20 horse field? Is it vecious gremlins?

I should have added my download for cd0502 loads up to race 11 only ,which turns out to be a maiden race .All lines for all 11 races show current but nothing for the Derby

Also experiencing this problem. I doubt it is the 10 furlongs, as that is not that uncommon. Not sure about the 20 horses fields though

Al and all. What version of the software are you using? I just found this information to upgrade to 98.6 in the link below

I upgraded to 98.6 and am able to load the 2009 derby in RDSS

Al ,

As Jim discovered, you need to update RDSS to version 0.98.6 (that's what it's there for...). Even then, you may need to 'scratch' a few horses to get it to work. Please see the Release Notes for the new Version 0.98.6 (http://www.sartinmethodology.com/rds...ase_notes_0986)

Thanks for the update. Solved my problem. I see what happens now when I don't check this site for a 5 day period. This is sure a lot better than using Val4 restricted to entering 12 horses at a time and then scratching (and scratching) until the final contenders could be lined up. Of course, there was always that great consolation is cashing those huge exacta, trifecta, and win tickets.

That consolation is still available, I think . On a related note, did you not also get my email about the update, sent to all RDSS users?
