M4$ May21 Challenge17 (Pook)

Challenge17.

I am the poster for Preakness Day and I can tell you that the race for the Challenge will not be the Preakness. I can also promise that it will not be a maiden race because I have noticed that they don't seem to be too popular with my fellow contestants. Every horse will have at least three North American pace lines.

So there you go,
Pook

Thanks Pook for all you do to run the contest and for not posting the Preakness or a maiden race!

Canterbury Race 9 (5:55PM ET)

It seems half of the tracks on Saturday will be experiencing rain. I came up with four good candidates at smaller tracks which call for sunny weather. I most prefer an 8.3 F dirt starter allowance at little Canterbury Downs. The home of some of the lowest takeouts in NA. Hopefully not much in scratches.

Good Luck,
Pook

From equibase, the 3 and 9 are scratched.

Cby #9

Thanks for posting this one Pook. CBY is one of my favorite tracks. I like the announcer who doubles as the announcer for the Minnesota Vikings of the NFL. Turn up the volume.

Headed to the off-track so I'm getting this one in early.

A bit of the speed is scratched. Still we're left with the 2 and 5 and possibly the 3 which I think are matching earlies. They are out.

I'm looking for a sustained type who is fast. The pressers are the 6 and 10 who are OUT.

This leaves me with the 1,4,7, and 8. The 8 is just going bad and can't handle the pace. I don't like the 7's last race with no excuse. The 4 is going to be too far back.

The 1 is my choice to win the race.

This race should run OTE.
Diodoro has the #4(closer) & #5 (early sprinter).
He will probably send the 5 to challenge the best early #2. This should set up the race for either the #4 or #7.
If the #7 can run back to previous races, he should be closest to the pace at a better price.

My choices are the #4 & #7

cby 2

CBY 9 looking for a pressured pace up front

I believe this sets it up for the 2,4,7,10. the 2 and the 7 should get first jump on these. Therefore my choices are

#2 Y Ya Gottabedatway
#7 Word Racer.

Not sure about this one Pook , I thank you for a interesting race with a wide mix of horses of ability and from different surfaces and distances,
This looks like a race from The Match Up 2 by Jim Bradshaw

I am going to OTE because I cant split the 2 and 5 and the other sprinters just
make it a guess. I will go with the 4 and 10. I hope the 10 is not so far back
and can run its 3rd fraction like it did in race 7 I would think TUP is a faster track than CBY but still that is a good LPR from a 110.3 POR

For the contest, and since I am running out of pass opportunities
I will go with the 4 and 10

Canterbury 9

Thanks for the scratches Tim. I was disappointed to see some of the speed scratch out. But I will stick with OTE anyway. I have a projected 23 something/ 47 something/ 1:11 something from the two Earlies 2,5. Hopefully will run Other Than with 6,7,10 as my best candidates. Of these I prefer 10,7 for the win.

10,7

I know what you mean Bill. I was and am thoroughly confused by this race. But I also felt compelled to play this race. I actually changed my picks after I initially posted them.
