RDSS Remote

I've been using LogMeIn Pro for over 6 months without many problems. You also can obtain a free remote access client from them which is dumbed down but functional. The biggest problem occurs when your remote server crashes. And, that happens from time to time. I noticed that Ted is using a 'cloud server' as opposed to a stand alone box. I need to look into that if it can be remotely re-booted.

I'm running RDSS on a mac platform using VMWare Fusion for Windows emulation (XP and 7) which is fairly stable. If I could run a cloud server in native windows, I think all of these problems would be licked.

I haven't seen a screen capture of the iPad3 running RDSS. Can anyone share that with me?

Thanks

Tom,

When I get mine, you'll be the first to know! A month ago, my local Mac store said '3 weeks' and happily took my money. This week, they also said: '3 weeks'. At least they're consistent.

Now I know why Apple is the richest company in this part of the galaxy ...

Thanks Ted

Are you buying the phone version? I think Best buy and Verizon have them in stock here.

Just tested out TeamViewer ..

Works GREAT!!!

Just remember a few things....

...of course , bring charger

...write down access number, if IPAD goes to sleep..you will need # to enter again to TeamViewer

...make sure your home PC doesnt go into sleep mode or you lose connection and cant connect

Mike,

That looks very fine! Is that the New iPad (ipad3)? Do you have LTE/4G? What's the responsiveness? Using TV on my cloud server over 3G, the interaction is near Desktop speed.

Ted
IPAD 2 WI-FI .....TED , over my Home Internet...
My home speed is 35/35 FIOS
But I can tell you watching Slingbox on any remote setting 3G , 4G, or any wi-fi connection..is super
I'm sure the PC/IPAD will be just as responsive

Tom,

I ordered the 64 Gb 4G/LTE version, but I have to get it from a Canadian distributor (unless it takes longer than the end of the month, then all bets are off ...)
