Mountaineer "Ugly race"

This was last night's 6th at Mountaineer.Talk about a horror show of really "bad" horses. They even made a horse 2/5 on the ml!! Mmm a giant like that certainly should be right up on top of the pile right?? Let's see.

Lets see the entire pps for the field and I will leave the middle tab on "primary" so I can see the lines best liked by the software.

You will see my lines used check marked. Simple best of last 3 comparable as I saw it.

First the race conditions, entries and Apv/CR

Here is the Bl/Bl with all our contenders/lines.

The giant of a ml fav is ranked FOURTH as the #1 early horse with virtually no other corollary support. Mmmm

2 BOMBS take up the top 2 tiers in the #5 and #7 and looking across they own almost ALL the corollaries from Primary to Supplemental to Fractal reads. They went off at 18/1 and 15/1 respectively

Now I removed the bottom 2 guys showing on the previous Bl/bl screen shot.

This gets us to our 5 contenders. Here is what things look like now.

#5 and #7 have nice gap advantage over the 3rd ranked guy who happens to be that 2/5 alleged giant.

Some wagercappers might consider this a "nice situation"

Result

I called this an ugly race in the thread opener cause it was. Looking at the pps of these bucks hopefully bears that out.

Here is the result chart and look at that. The 2/5 shot ran third just like the reads had him!!!

Richie:

Good morning!

Very nice strike! Way to find the very vulnerable favorite in this field which through your wisdom and very astute capping you managed to clearly uncover. For some reason most of the public perceived this guy to be a monster in here.

Very Very Nice!!

Have a Great Day today Richie.

All the BEST!

Vinnie

Richie, regardless of the outcome of the race, my question is about the line selection. Using simple best of last three, shouldn't distance/surface be a part of that? And if, yes, wouldn't the line for the 2 horse have been line #3 since that line is from the same distance as last nights race? And finally, if line #3 is used, how does the race shape up?
Thanks

And why no pace line given to the 1 horse, u should of used line 3 even though the horse was beaten by 19 L, u used other horses lines in the race that were beaten by 11 an 13 L. How about working the race again giving each horse a line? Then working the race just using a line from today's distance or close to it.

Richie, I'm sorry to bother you with this, but wouldn't line 2 be the correct line for the #7 HORSE? His line 1 was on an off track and his line 2 was less than 10 beaten lengths compared to more than 10 beaten lengths for lines 1 and 3.
I'm just trying to get a handle on line selection.

Thanks.
