Ote

Hi Terry

OTE is Other Than Early

Its one of the staples of the match up
Will the winner be a early horse or a horse who is not a early horse

Jim Bradshaw called horses who were not Early
Other Than Early
or O.T.E.

Bill,
I thought we were home and dry at the top of the stretch, but the winner just kept going.
I took the #4 off her 5th back. In her last she showed she could "get on top of her fractions" and the 5th was her Power Line also at today's track
even though over a year ago.
The winner's second back was her best TE but the fractions from Belmont had her in 6th and 7th positions at the 1st and 2nd calls and beaten 4.1 lengths
on the segments screen. As I said a tough horse to find given she was a P5.
You've got to have the pacelines to chose from. I'm sure her connections cashed some nice tickets. The #7 can be gotten off her 4th back, a 1-turn Belmont mile.
Once claimed her new connections had delusions of grandeur and so I didn't hold her last several against her. I would be taking a nap right now if that exacta
had come in.
Saw Orb ran decently in the Travers but I will stick to my guns on that horse. I believe you are the Bill that I had an exchange about him with. Look at the chart
of that race and look at the move Palace Malice made between the 6f and mile, he gained nearly 6 lengths again a 24 sec quarter mile and still hung on beaten
3/4 of a length, after stumbling badly out of the gate. He is a special horse!

Segwin,
If you are breaking even you are doing better than 90% of the handicapping population. But this game will grind you up if you don't know what you are doing.
It has taken me decades to reach a knowledgable level and my folks raised Thoroughbreds. Jim Bradshaw in my opinion was the greatest handicapper to ever come
down the pipe and he did it with only a racing form and a brilliant mind. Doc Sartin made him use a computer at the seminars but otherwise pen and racing form.
You can gain a tremendous insight into his methods by reading the Hat Check Blog and using his 5 step approach. The Pace and Cap website is the only place i
know of where this information is offered free...

Haven't been betting that long - I just need some time.

Not to mention some pretty smart cookies as well.

I enjoy my time spent here. Always something to learn.

Lightbulb Simple Analysis

I just do what the guys who are smarter than me say...

A. Doc says: Use the program numbers!
Even without deleting all of the useless horses from the BL/BL screen I see 3 possible wagers.

10 5 8

(Considering the odds you could bet all 3!?)

B. Hat says Early or Late.
Will the 10 (Need to Lead horse) get the early lead?
F1 numbers show the EPR2 horse leading at F1.
Even without the numbers, is any horse likely to get an easy early lead in a 12 horse field?

C. Quirin also has a few things to say about Last Race Winners.

Doc says bet 2 horses = 5 & 8

Doc Sartin told me I could win if I just stopped thinking so much.
