The "ANGLE" strikes again

In the 4th race at PEN (7.10.09) the winner at $21.40 ran 2nd in its' race 2 back and way out of the money in its' last race.

Take note, in the race 2 back, the distance was 6F dirt, while the last race was 8F turf.
Today's race is the same dist/surf and condition as the race 2 back.
It always "helps" the ANGLE when there is a legitimate reason for the horses' bad last race.

Barb, are you getting these?

"THE ANGLE" strikes again on 7.10.09. This time at MNR in the 7th race at $109.00!!!

ran 2nd two back
ran horrible last out
one 'little' note. a look at the horses' last 5 races show that the worst one was it's last at 6F. the other four were at 5.5F
today's distance? 5.5F!

alright, the horse was an 0 for 35 (professional maiden)
alright, the jockey was 1 for 87

Who cares? we're watching "THE ANGLE" !!

The Angle

It looks like the angle produces very nice mutuals.

Were the angle winners at PEN & MNR within the top 5 RDSS or Spec160
contenders ? For I am throwing out any pattern recognition horse that
are out of the top 5 contenders. This may be an incorrect assumption on my
part.
This may be a phenomenon that just happens and is out of the
boundaries of the Sartin Methodology. If the stats show a positive R.O.I.,
and from what I have seen so far these horses produce nice prices, then
I guess you just go with it.

Thanks,

Ernie

Nice Ernie!
I nearly did Mike. I only did 2 of the earlier races at MNR last night.

I only use them if they are in my top 3 tiers on the BL screen. and pay good mutuals. I didn't do them yesterday so I don't know where they were - sorry.

Barb , if you still have the races from Mtr from last nite, maybe you can give us a screen shot of the 7th race $109 winner's just as if you would have capped it .

Ernie - in RDSS

PEN July 10 race 4- 5 was in 3rd tier BL.
MNR race 7 - if you hide the 3 for low odds, your 2 is in tier 3, but tied for 1st in VDC

On Pattern recognition

An old friend from Pace & Cap gave me this angle a long time ago..
I filed it away and I'm now kicking my self for not following up on it as I see in many horses PP's wining and paying good prices..

It is RAY TAULBOT's "A" angle....heres the emailed that I saved..

here the "A" angle to the fullest:

The A angle deals with horse's last 2 races; it is composed of a good next to last race (2 races back) in which the horse finished in the money, followed by an easy conditioning race last start.
It should be clear that a relationship between 2 race back and the last race exist ONLY when 2 races back was run at a comparatively recent date. So the more recently the 2 race back was run the better.

The angle has real value ONLY when the speed rating for the last race, as compared to the speed rating for 2 races back reveals that the horse has not gone completely off form since turning in the good 2 races back.

The A angle has winning power ONLY when the speed rating for the last race is no more than 10 points below the speed rating earned 2 races back.

The A angle becomes a POWER angle when the horse is entered today for a class or price (claiming races) no higher then the class of its last race.

When the horse is entered for a class or price (claiming races) lower than its entered class or price in 2 races back, the angle takes on even greater strength.

Now don't run to the window just because the A angle. Angles are only used to add or detract to the horse ratings.

Thanks, Barb, for the info.

That is good news, the program is coming up with solid contenders that are
completely hidden from the public.
