Ok Bill you never stated in your post that this was a race where other factors won! I see am not articulating my point to you.which is I don't care when you post this example of how Howard would of worked this race or anyone else, before or after the race was run, How can the 1 and 1a be left out of any workup of this race, period that's all I wanted to know? You ask would I have posted the race before the fact? You were posting pre-race as an example so Yes and I would of used the 1 and 1a they have many pace-lines to chose from. And I wouldn't of known it was another example of math cant beat the races! You were posting an example for someone on how you would work a race or how Howard would have done it, I get that and it was well done,I just didn't understand leaving out those 2 horses. Match-up skills?I don't claim to have any more or less than the next guy,I posed a question that's all.So in the spirit of the purpose of having this forum for Sartin guys to discuss the methodology I asked a question in regard to the methodology concerning your pace-line selection. Thanks!

Hey glad we are on the same page.So you said races are not won by math alone, I agree, which is why I used the 1 in my pick 4.
You said Quote:
line. I assumed you were a match up student from your very first post. Code:
Leaving out 2 speed horses including the fastest 1/4 time horse on the page on a fast track? The 1a is hard for me to understand leaving out? I know you didn't realize the 2 was a scratch but the 1a is faster to the quarter and the half on a fast track how can he be left out? By the way I am in no way criticizing your work. Also a side note over the years working with the Sartin stuff and various other pace treatments there is one thing that is overwhelmingly clear to me,THE GAME CANNOT BE BEAT BY MATH.It sure helps but we have all run zillions of races through all our programs and continually leave out the winner or get beat by any number of other factors that trump pace and our little, programs,Connections, new trainer, new owner, lasix, gelded, hot jockey, bad trip, a never ending list of reasons the game cant be beat by math alone. i feel that properly identifying contenders and picking proper pacelines will get me about 50-60% winners per 20 race cycle I lost this race period because of two reason . 1 My key horse was scratched 2. The horse and or horses who won were bet down to .90/1 I would never had made a win bet on them , Yes I would include them in my pick 4 but never a strait win bet I do very well with math. I just accept that form and trainer maneuvers, are also a part of the game but I myself and a few other can win this game on proper paceline and contender selections . |

Hi Bill
Thanks very much for the presentation and I am glad that you picked out a race that was not already run. It seems using the pre play screen as you suggested is like the variegate in Energy. In the seminar tapes from KC where it was introduced Hat said that Doc dearly loved this program and thought up to that point was the ultimate match up tool. As always you did it in a very simple and organized manner and I wouldn't mind seeing a tutorial how to export the files from RDSS to KGEN. Thanks again Jeff |

RAC files
Jeff
After you pick your lines go to the original pacelines tab in analysis. Look up in the upper right hand corner. There is a little arrow . Right click on that arrow and a box like this will pop up Just follow what I have shown. Make sure you save the file into the same folder that the program is in. Once you are ready click okay Now open KGEN or what ever program that uses RAC files On the menu select load race from file or disk On the next screen select the bottom option , Load A Race Manually Now type the name of the RAC file that you saved from RDSS You have to type it exactly as it is saved It should look something like this PR021505 a 2 letter track code, the date, and the race number Here is a post from Ted that will help you too http://paceandcap.com/forums/showpos...05&postcount=1 |

RDSS automatically
Jeff
Lets do Charleston Race 1 together After you pick your lines, Click the arrow in the upper right corner like I showed before, RDSS will make a RAC file named CT021701 You just have to make sure you save it someplace, I save mine into the same folder that kgen is located in C/oldgames |

Now open KGEN
I use the 4 call KGEN but the 3 call is the same procedure.
Just make sure if you use the 4 call to select RDSS to make a 4 call RAC file Now at this menu select opt 2 Load A File From A Disk |
