Practice Race

This is the 8th race today from PARX. It's already been run. I think it's a good example of a spot play.

Pete and I go back to when RichieP was posting here with a direct link to The Hat.

I liked the race. On Sunday, I sent a private message to Pete, told him who I thought would win and why, and asked him what he thought. He had some reservations about another horse in the race. So, I didn't post it. After the cancellation of MNR last night, he sent me a message about posting it. I didn't read the message until today after the race had been run.

If you're interested, take a look at the race, see if you can identify the spot play. Then, pick the winner.

I'll come on with a comment in a day or two.

Good matching.

Tim

This was one of only 2 races to pay double digits today at Parx. I didn't necessarily see it as a spot play. As per the screenshot below I expected it to run early because of the (1) being the standout early of only two. He managed to hang on over the (5). The (1) owned the projected pace.

(1) also had the best performance against FPLR!

Pook

Why did you not see it as a spot play, a speed of the speed early for the 1 horse. Just trying to understand what your thoughts were here since you usually nail these.

Pook,

Why not use line 2 for horse #5, which was 24-47.2-111.2-144.2 in which the horse was PP6-St3-2x.5-1xhd-1x4-1x4.5

That pace line was almost identical to the #1. Todays race is at 8.5f and the paceline I show for the #5 was taken from a 8.3f which is closer to the distance they will be running today.

Then if we move the #1 horses paceline to 4 back at 8.3f he has times that would make him clearly the fastest at 1st and 2nd call.

Vderdak,

I didn't see it as a spot play because there didn't seem to be unusual conditions like (sprints to a route), or a (one lone early) situation. There were two earlies and one was dominant. Seemed like a fairly common occurrence. However I did play the (1) as a single.

Sorry Tim, I realized after I posted that I revealed the winner in my post. Maybe I screwed things up a bit for those looking to practice. Maybe you can remove that post. I can't do it.

Ray,

I think I chose that line because it was the last race and there was a power line in it. Whatever way you look at it as you pointed out the (1) was dominant.
