RP - Saturday - 9/16 - nobody wants the lead!

Tonight's 4th at Remington - 85 pacelines showing for the field - ONE line a horse has the lead at 1c.

I'm thinking this might be a good race to seek feedback on from Matchers and Cappers alike!

A BIG thank you in advance to those who take the time to jump in!

No Early's - Early look

Hello from Surfside Race Place- Del Mar California

Race 4 Reminton Park Cls75 Nonwinner 3 life
3 up

Notes

Horse 1 Drinkin' Song PRESSER 2 FOR 14 Life 12/1 I will use line 3. Line 3 is a plus line ant the CL non winner 2 level
(win) The 168 TPR is his best. I excuse line 1 as it was his first try at Remington. Line 2 was too high class and
cause a 32-day layoff

Horse 2. Seven Squared 3 year old 6/1 2 for 7 lifetime. Presser
Form is good. Line 1 is a plus line 12 days ago (win) against Non 2- L class
His best TPR in route races is only 165 His problem seems to e his EP's are too slow

Horse 3. Gone Preachin 3/1 Sus Presser 2 for 17 Made 2 moves in a good effort against this same class
in line 1. I will go to line 3, It's his best TPR at 173 It is his non 2 life win race
It's a plus line 74 days ago so I will use it.

Horse 4 Give Me Excitation 7/2 2 for 10 Life time Sustained This one is tricky
He has been running against open company higher class horses, Line 1 is on the turf and the first race after a 4-month layoff Line 3 meets doc's 189-day guideline. The TPR is only 166

Horse 5. Light Bound Bid 5/2 Sustained Presser 2 for 22 Line 1 is a plus race ( wiin) against
Open CL7500N3L Today he is against statebred. I TPR is a 170 using line 4

Horse 6 Heir To Dream 20/1 Preisser ( wif) 2 for 22 life Recent form is not too good
He was running well in Routes at WRD but then went to 5 sprints at Prm In his return to routing against open CL7500 N3 he showed nothing.

Horse 7 Game Bid 8/1 2 for 18 Life Pressure Line 1 is a Plus line against this same class and distance
TPR 1s 166

Horse 8 Gretjoy 30/1 Sustained 2 for 23 No form

Horse 9 Samicean (GER) 5/1 Form ? 2 for 9 Life
Line 2 is a muddy line against CL5 Non 2 Life its the only plus race showing
the mud did not appear to affect its normal TPR ability which at 161 is too low

Looks like a wild race - Who will be in the lead?

Let's see scratches and conditions
and odds

Thanks for posting the race RichieP

Not only is there only 1 line where a horse has the lead, we don’t even know the 2nd fraction!?

So, who’s going to get the lead? Do we have to throw that horse out?

FPLR is the tandem 17 days ago @ 23.5 – 47 - 112

Looking at the other horses, the 2 won against a 23.8 – 47.9 – 112.7
Also won up close against a slow 24.5 – 48

The 7 is the only horse to see the lead @ 1C
He ran OK against a 23.8 – 47.5 – 111.4
Also won up close against 24.1 – 48.3

The 9 had a good race 2 back but I have trouble thinking the Ellis mud line is going to be repeated today.

Looked at FPLR tandem replay saw a lone E horse a couple lengths in front of 3 horses with today’s 1 horse caught 3 wide from the 10 hole. So, he was fighting with 2 other horses perhaps not for the lead, but for preferred position?

The horse that won the tandem (not the tandem race), the 5, is scratched. The other horse that made a difference in the tandem, the 3, is here today again and has shown in line 3 it can be near the pace and win, albeit against a 24.1 - 48

Looking back to line 3 race for the 1 horse, there was a rabbit that went way out front & stopped leaving the 1 to control the pace for everybody else and win.

With all that said, I still don’t know who will take the lead or have a projected pace.

Bet Win 1 , 3

Bob the 5 is scratched.

Contenders 1 2 3 7 9

Positionally 1 2 3 7 have won from the 2nd position. I see 1 in front and 2 3 as being in front of 7 and positioned best to pass 1 for win.

I couldn't believe how well this matchup matched up. Watch the race. The 1 did lead and then gave it up. The 2 and 3 were 2nd and third all the way around the course. They both passed the 1 in the stretch and were fighting each other. They were in front and I thought that was it. But if they couldn't do it.......

one of the contenders had won from the perfect fourth spot.

Nice call Raceman. I don't know if you saw it quite like that but you got him for $16. Fascinating paceless race that illustrated no early to a T.

Ok so Hat's thoughts on these races are that horses are herd animals and get accustomed to certain positions in the field (herd). He used to tell me to watch the races and often you will see some horses looking around like they are lost. He said they rarely win and in THESE completely paceless races you do NOT want the horse on the lead!!

Last nights race bore this out once again in spades as the #1 goes uncontested and runs off the board.

Great job Raceman getting the $16.00 win and $66.00 cold exacta in his 2 contenders! (the 5 was scratched)

A huge thank you to everyone who took the time to jump in and participate!!!

Another OTE winner
