MPH type figures/rankings

Good morning all... Was curious, is there an easy or recommended method of utilizing RDSS to get MPH type figures/rankings isolated?

Scott,

In MPH parlance compared to RDSS:

- EP is identical to RDSS EPR.
- F3 is RDSS F3 (and effectively equivalent to RDSS LPR)
- SP Sustained Pace (average of 2nd Call or EP and F3 - where F3 is given an equal weight to Early Pace) is functionally equivalent to RDSS CPR (= EPR+LPR)
- AP Average Pace in routes (1.5 * EP + F3/2) has no functional equivalent in RDSS - BUT Total Energy (sum of F1+F2+F3) is just as effective and impactful as AP, and is functionally equivalent to the AP sprint calculation.

- FX is FX
- Turn Time is Turn Time.

- Total Energy in MPH (2nd call+F3 velocity) nearly compares to Total Energy in RDSS (as described above).

- %Early (EP/Total Energy) compares to %Median in RDSS (F1+F2 / F1+F2+F3), though %Median is a somewhat more fine grained way of determining relative early versus late energy disbursement. Another, perhaps more 'punchy' way of visualizing relative energy disbursement in RDSS is the Early/Late Differential graph, derived from EPR-LPR (the surplus/deficit of 2nd Call time/velocity over F3).

Missing from MPH, and more effectively deployed in various Sartin programs since the early 1990's is the weighted Line Score of Primary Factors (EPR, LPR, CPR, TT, Hidden, Factor W, Factor X), which results in BL/BL (Bottom Line/Betting Line).

Also missing: one of the primary explorations of the Methodology since MPR: deceleration (how much the hose slows down in F3 relative to how fast it was going in each of the first 2 fractions, relative to its overall velocity), which culminated in the V/DC factor (Velocity relative to Deceleration).

Nothing which was valuable in MPH is missing from RDSS, merely recaptioned or enhanced.

Hope that helps.

cheers,

Ted

Hi Ted,

3 items from the version of MPH (1.4) that I have that I think are good and somewhat unique:

1) Massa's blended pace line selection. (Automatically selects up to 2 pace lines per horse)

2) The odds line that is produced from the program is very good.

3) The quirin-style pace and speed figures for all the running lines.

Jim

Fair enough Jim. I stand corrected!
