wild and crazy day at Del Mar

First off great bet Mike what was the worst that could have happened?
You did profit very well from other pools

My day started off great. I picked up my buddy Jim and took him out for breakfast. Tomorrow will be his birthday, We ate at a really nice place on the coast highway 101 in Solana Beach.

We met Jockey Martien Pedroza, we said hello, Poor guy did not eat he only drank tomato juice. I guess he was worried about his weight.

So We get to Del Mar and I discover I forgot my charger
I quickly ran out of power because I was using it at breakfast on battery power.

I shut down the computer but figured I had just enough power left to do the 8th and 9th race daily double, So at race 8 it scoped out for me as 3 6 10
So my bet today for the feature race/s was the daily double race 8-9
3 6 10 /3 Arrogate

Since I had no power I could not use my computer so I just played around making show bets by eyeball scanning the DRF. I was able to bet into my twin-spires account from my tablet

I did really well

How Ironic the race I don't bet into the show pool turned out to
be the most profitable,

The 10 did win 8th race and paid $9

I never saw the DD will pay to Arrogate We watched the race from the stands,

Oh well

Mike that was one awesome bet. Really creative use of the pools. Like Bill said what is the worst that could happen. Well if one had bet 10 times what you did the maximum downside was $38. The upside as occured, would have been nearly $1200. Of course it takes balls to bet against Arrogate for show. Though as Mitch pointed out he had never raced with that much rest and horses back from Dubai don't generally do well right away. FTL's guidelines of maximum 89 days do hold up in databases. They win in the single digits of overall percentages. Graded horses of course a little higher.

You were doing the opposite of the bridge jumpers. Who does that anyway? Betting tens of thousands on a horse to be third or better? What the?

No that wasn't the work of a blind squirrel. It took a little MOWjo to see it!

Congrats Mike. I am sure that you wish you had 10 times your bet down. Nonetheless. Excellent.

Well done Mike. When I use to watch TVG on Mon and Tues Rich Pearloff always would bet $2 to show on all the other horses when the situation like this arose. There were some wild show prices hit. Granted Arrogate was hard to go against but the exposure was slight even if he finished in the money.

Hi Pook

I agree with Tim LT1 I often make the same bet when i am just messing around watching races on line or TVG, ala Rich Perloff
Mike made a very wise bet, let's not get tied
up with the amount of money being bet, 1 time or 10 times is a personal thing.

Being able to add zero's to the end of your bet is more a reflection of personal
situations, I know many people here on pace and cap who can only bet $2 on two horses or make $1 exacta boxes, I also know they have issues in life that overshadow their ego's, I respect them very much,
When they send me private messages with their successful bets recapped,
I am very proud and supportive,

Mike invested $8 dollars. When did I ask what is the worst that could happen?
The answer is - Arrogate runs in the money, Which would have meant who ever else ran in the money, The pay off would have been 2.10 or maybe 2.20 Mike would have lost $3.80 Big deal, Based on what I have seen Mike bet I'm sure he can afford $3.80

Let's keep these races going It's helping people which is golden for me
and everybody here.

Bill....what?..... my comment was all praise for Mike.
10 times? Hypothetical Bill. No opinion on what anybody bets.
