Exacta Betting in Contest

Note to All,

Do not use the "/" symbol and the word "box" in the same bet. The "/" symbol generally means "partial wheel" ,"with", or "key".

Examples of Proper Exacta Bets

$2 Exacta box 1-2-4-7 = $24

$2 Ex 1,3/1,2,3,4,7,9 = $20

In the first example, the four horses used can come in any order as long as they are first and second.

In the second example, the one or three must win in order to cash.

In the second example, if you actually wanted to play the race so the 1,3 can come in first or second with those horses you would list it:

$2 ex. 1,3/1,2,3,4,7,9 = $20
$2 ex. 1,2,3,4,7,9/1,3 = $20

Total Bet $40

An improper bet is:

$2 ex box 1,3/1,2,3,4,7,9 = $20

It is unclear what is intended as the money does not match the attempted bet.

Jim
